About Mummy’s Favourite
Buried in a woodland grave are a mother and her child. One is alive. One is dead.
It is one of the most harrowing cases to hit D.C. Charlie Stafford’s department in years. Then more pairs of mothers and children go missing – and it’s Charlie’s job to find them.
Soon, Charlie is hunting down a brutal serial killer with a twisted mind. But as she closes in on the culprit, she realises she’s in more danger than she thought…

Mummy’s Favourite Review
Very thought provoking and creepy. Well written. A good read
What a story twists and turns right through to the end
this book was fantastic. Found it so good i was hooked and found it hard to put down.
Absolutely gripping read. Couldn’t put it down. Such a disturbing story but so well written.
This is definitely a series I’m going to stick with! I had no idea who the culprit was but certainly suspected plenty! DC Charlotte Stafford – known as Charlie – loves her work as a detective and seems to have a knack for it. When mothers and one of their children begin to go missing, she is deeply involved in the investigation. With so many other things being thrown in their path, will the team work out what’s going on? This is such a good read; so much happening that you really get the feel of things from the police perspective. There is just enough information about the various officers’ personal lives so make them interesting, without over-shadowing the events they are investigating. I think it shows that the author has a career in the Police Force. The various events themselves are easy to follow; with missing persons piling up the detectives work long hours, desperate to get a favourable result before time runs out. Who can have done this? Who could possibly be twisted enough? As they use every resource at their fingertips, the clock is ticking. I never saw the end coming! It took me completely by surprise; I was riveted to the pages, really engrossed in the story and just couldn’t read fast enough. Very exciting, a true thriller! This is a series I’ll be sticking with and if you enjoy a really good police procedural, then I heartily recommend it to you too. My thanks to publisher Aria for my copy via NetGalley, and also to Victoria Joss for inviting me take part in this Blog Tour. I choose to read this novel, and this is my honest, original and unbiased review.
This novel was captivating from the start. I did not even consider the murderer was the suspect.
Quite the thriller. Hard to believe that there is a possibility that people, today could be doing these terrible things.
Found this very scary at times. Had to have a break whilst reading this, it for the faint hearted. I really had no idea until the end who the culprit was!
As soon as the character was introduced I recognised the killer. I continued to read in the hope of being proved wrong, unfortunately I was right.
Enjoyed this book plenty of thrills fast paced, would recommend
Although the story has a promising start, there are far too many sermons on the way. Not a chapter goes by without a self-conscious self-righteous self-congratulatory passage, designed to “educate” the reader. Having the lead character recite statistics in her head is like taking a club to the reader. The characters are stock stereotypes, none were developed beyond the one dimensional introduction. The plot was slow, which was only accentuated by the lack of character development and the author’s intrusions. This ended up being a long boring sermon.
Brilliant a real page turner. so many twists, best read for a long time
This had a nice twist ending, which I like. The serial chiller was an interesting character. Really nasty sort.
I really enjoyed this book, having wanted to read something a bit different to my usual choice. I was really engaged throughout and enjoyed the plot. I’m looking forward to reading another book by the same author
What a great read I love physiological thrillers this book is a real fantastic read. I was trying to guess who it could be? Then changing my mind, I never expected the ending and was shocked. A must read, I can’t wait to start the next book in this series. You can really identify with the DC
A good thriller. I did find moments a little hard to read as the subject matter was traumatic. But a good police serial killer procedural. I liked the ending and the build up to it and final twist.
Great story. I look forward to reading more from this series.
You never figure out until almost the end. A very enjoyable read. I was hard pressed to put it down at night as my sleep deprived actions at work can atest to!
Enjoyable read, good central character and interesting plot.
Didn’t like it 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
I really enjoyed this book, wanted to keep reading every time I finished a chapter but unfortunately had to work. The character developments were great and the twist was unexpected. Great read
I enjoyed this book it’s not a gripping story but a good story
I thoroughly enjoyed this book.It sent a shiver through me.
Very good book. Did not expect ending! Could not put it down!
A real page turner. Truly kept me guessing until the end – a very surprising end. I look forward to more DC Charlie Stafford adventures from this author.
This book was one I could not put down.It had me in the grip of its spell from beginning to end.A superbly written book.Started out thrilling you and did not stop till the finish. It ended as a book should. It left you satisfied not as if it was unfinished like a lot of books do.I can’t wait to read more of Sarah Flint.
I found this “novel” most unlikable. Inconsistent characterisation an improbable plot and police force.
Great book with lots of twists and turns and keeps you guessing who the killer is, until the very end
Ok but a bit trite in that the characters seemed like a Hollywood tick list – single mum, lesbian, gay, forceful, flawed main character. Twist of who the main culprit was I worked out way before the denouement. It is an alright read but you can tell the author is trying to put across that she thinks the law is weighted on the side of the criminals with a bit too much ‘politicising’. Nice easy read for a bank holiday weekend.
enjoyed this book as it kept you guessing right to the end. didn’t get bogged down with too much IT or thought processes. characters were believable. Look forward to next book
I found this novel gruesome & childish at the same time. The idea of the book was thrilling, but I felt the style of writing was a bit corny & predictable in many chapters. Maybe a good thriller for a very young adult
Couldn’t Put this book down, haven’t read for years, this book has inspired me to continue reading again, excellent story with stories within the main crux, loved it.
Fantastic. Never knew what was coming. Action and mystery on every page. Highly recommend this author.
Great book with twists & turns. keeps you guessing. Enjoyed reading this book. It’s had me on the edge of my seat.
Een echte page-turner! Moeilijk om dit boek weg te leggen. Met elke bladzijde kom je een stapje dichter bij de waarheid.
Really enjoyed this book, it kept me guessing who did it right to the end. Found it quite disturbing at times. Dont take my word for it… read it for yourself.
Psychologische thriller, heel spannend. Dit boek wil je gewoon blijven doorlezen, hoewel misschien midden in de nacht wat al griezelige
This story has a good plot, chopped up story line and weak characters. I couldn’t like or hate Charlie and Hunter, they had no personality. There was no suspense. Not bad for a new author and hoping she can improve
I really enjoyed this book. I like the way the author mixed the characters, had trouble working out who was the true villain Hope there are more from this author.
Rubbish book with no meaning DO NOT RECOMMEND would give it 0 stars if I could

Love the characters in this book especially Charlie and Hunter. As the story unfolds it draws you further and further into the criminals mind. A very disturbing trail of events which means this book is very hard to put down. I look forward to the next one in what I hope will one of many.
